Baby Blanket

There is a big delay in when I create these projects.  This blanket for example, I made back in September.  It was for my friend, who was having a baby shower.  I didn't post it on the off chance she checked the blog.

Anyway, it was my first tie blanket.  I had never worked with binding, either.  I really liked how it turned out, though!  I always thought you had to have those nifty posts to do a tie blanket, but I just made sure the fabrics were wrinkle free, and just poked the holes.

I'm sure if you are making a bigger blanket, then you would need those posts thingys.

I also made some burp cloths, as well.  I did them differently, this time.  I wish I would have saved the link...sorry about that!  But there is a flannel inside to make them thicker.  I also cut the edges so it would have that rag quilt look to it.

Back in November, I had a really good friend get married.

To be honest, we didn't have a lot of extra money to get a gift, so I bought a baking casserole dish (you really can never have too many of these) and decided to etch their last name on it.

This is where I was introduced to contact paper.  It is sooo much cheaper and just as good as vinyl.  Especially for this kind of job.

Vinyl is expensive (or can be if not purchased through places like ebay or amazon) and I felt bad for just throwing it away after peeling it off.

Anyway, I cut their name out using my surecutsalot program and cricut and applied the glass etching cream.  I really like this font.  It's my favorite!

I also made them this card. I really like the love birds on the branch.  The card itself is fuzzy where the white is.  I thought it was appropriate.

I had fun making this!
